Our low cost
digital archiving services allow for libraries, repositories of special
collections and other organizations with limited budgets to digitize their
archives for web publication. XML/SGML Extensible markup language (XML) is the universal format for structured as well as unstructured content on the Web and is a subset of SGML . We can convert media rich, unstructured paper, microfilm or scanned documents to powerful XML files. We use and modify a variety of third party encoding standards such as TEI (Text Encoding Initiative) and develop other proprietary content management tools to create XML database. Data Entry/ Data CaptureShritech performs a large variety of data capture / entry services in many languages - English, German, French, Spanish, Italian. We can perform data capture from printed, scanned images, microfilm and on-line data entry. We have many levels of data accuracy and processes to guarantee such accuracy:
99.999% accuracy means that no more than one error per 100,000 characters is allowed. An error would include inclusion or omission of a space, inclusion or omission of a character or a comma shown as a full stop etc. This is true for text as well as equations. A five character word omitted by the keyboard process counts as five errors. We do data entry for forms processing, data indexing, e-books, database marketing, direct mail , market research, banks, financial institutions, insurance companies, education and content for e-learning and on line data entry. We are equipped to handle small and very large volumes of data capture. Overnight delivery is possible in many cases. We will do free sample conversion Microfilm/ Microfiche Imaging & Conversion Our micrographic lab is equipped with the state of the art high speed microfilm & microfiche scanning and printing equipment from Sunrise and Canon. We can scan upto 600 DPI images from microfilm or microfiche, index & convert the text and images to a full-text searchable ( XML /SGML/HTML) format or to PDF format. We can also print to A3 size from microfilm and Microfiche We can process 16 mm and 35 mm microfilm, microfiche positive or negative film and print A3 size copies and write to CD-ROM, DVD-ROM or Optical Disc for instant On-Demand service.
Digital Archiving We also do Encoded Archival Descriptions. If you are considering digitizing your archives, we will do a no-cost no-obligation sample archiving of your documents and give you an estimate regardless of the size of the job. Scanning / OCR clean up At Shritech, we are equipped with the latest high speed scanning equipment and our scanning services are probably one of the lowest cost services you will ever find. We are capable of scanning books & paper larger than A3 Size ( 11.8 X 18.7") ( 300 X 475 mm) We will scan 150 to 1200 DPI true color, B&W or grayscale, TIFF , JPG or GIF or DjVu formats. Scanned files will be indexed as per requirement and sent via FTP or burnt on to CD, DVD or magnetic optical disks for On-Demand retrieval. We have multilingual OCR capability and will clean up your OCR up to 99.999% accuracy and convert to full searchable text XML/SGML/HTML format or text searchable PDF or DjVu format. Typesetting We perform a full range of Pre Press services including copy editing and typesetting for Scholarly, Scientific, technical and medial books & journals. We perform typesetting in Quark, 3B2, FrameMaker and in TeX, LaTeX. TeX is a typesetting system "intended for the creation of beautiful books - and especially for books that contain a lot of mathematics''. TeX is a macro processor, and offers its user a powerful programming capability . When people say they are ``programming in TeX'', they usually mean they're programming in plain TeX. LaTeX is a TeX macro package that provides a document processing system. LaTeX allows markup to describe the structure of a document, so that the user need not think about presentation. By using document classes and add-on packages, the same document can be produced in a variety of different layouts. Yellow and White page conversion Shritech performs Yellow, White pages, and other directory conversion services in many languages. We key in Yellow and white page listings from printed directories either by selected fields or the full directory. Output is 99.99% accurate and can be converted to databases such as MS Access etc. In addition to Names, Addresses, telephone numbers and classification headings, Universal Directory Advertising Codes (UDAC) and values and other information can be captured to generate a valuable marketing tool. Forms Processing Many types of Handwritten forms do not easily lend themselves to automatic capture using ICR/OCR tools. Shritech processes such forms using ImageXP, our own forms processing software. Data capture is from images or paper forms. We use a double key process to ensure high accuracy output. We realize that your data is useless if incorrect and we take pains to ensure that our forms processed data is of a high level of accuracy. We create validation tools based on a set of rules - Postal code and address validation, for example. Customers reduce cost, are allowed to focus on their core business and grow without adding expensive manpower and resources. Shritech is the most cost-effective and efficient outsourcing option when you deal with forms data capture. If you are able to scan and upload the images to a secure FTP server, we can usually download process and return the database to you in 24 hours. Shritech offers these services:
Database creation/ maintenance We create and maintain small and large databases of various kinds: Technical, Scientific and business database / Indexes, directories, mailing addresses, customer lists, library cards (Marc 21) & indexes and catalogues. Maintenance / Validation from the Internet We will extract data from the web, create a database to your requirement and periodically maintain your database by regular updates. We have considerable experience in Citrix and other on line data entry Maintenance / Validation by calling the customer We also offer a customer database validation service by having our call center call the customer to verify the accuracy/validity of the database information and clean up your database on a regular basis PDF conversion We can convert your paper documents, microfilms or scanned images to full text searchable PDF files. The Process:
DjVu conversion DjVu (pronounced "déjà vu") is a new image compression technology allows the distribution on the Internet of very high resolution images of scanned documents, digital documents, and photographs. With DjVu we typically can achieve compression ratios about 5 to 10 times better than existing methods such as JPEG and GIF for color documents, and 3 to 8 times than TIFF for black and white documents. Scanned pages at 300 DPI in full color can be compressed down to 30 to 100KB files from 25MB. Black-and-white pages at 300 DPI typically occupy 5 to 30KB when compressed. Data Security & Privacy Shritech follows a data security standard for maintaining its own and customer data security and privacy in accordance with ISO 17799.
